It follows the build of a Jim Michalak Mikesboat to use for the Texas 200. See http://texas200.com/ for the "race".

Sail plan has been modified for me by Michalak to a balanced lug plus a mizzen.

After 30 nautical miles we beached just before
Sunset.

 

Down wind spilling air to keep bows from burying.
7/8 Knots, in the ship channel and no time to reef.

After the rain, we put up the tent and got a good sunset. Didn't catch anything.

After a long trip to Shackleford Island with VERY light winds, a bite of lunch, and a nip of the flask, a nap is what is needed!

When on a beam reach in light winds, we had to spill winward sail's wind to get lee sail to draw. Looks strange, but worked.

Goose Neck made from gateHinge. IT will be turned Pin down before sailing. Cotter pin will keep Boom from falling down without Sail tension. Cheap...Easy...Ugly!
